Our Story

Taba Tabaee has been on Girard Avenue for four decades. Neighbors, shop owners, and families walk in with a stain, a room that needs a rug, or a piece they inherited. He sits down. He does not rush you out. The collection includes Persian, Oriental, transitional, and contemporary rugs, and he will clean or restore what you already own.

La Jolla staple Taba Rug Gallery still showing its chops after 40 years

How he works

Taba picks every rug himself. He thinks about whether you will still want it in twenty years. Most of La Jolla's shop owners know him by name and send people over, because he will help even if you only came in with a question. The consultation is free. Come by.
