Contemporary Rugs
Taba's modern & contemporary selection
Contemporary rug designs are generally characterized by stark contrasts, bold uses of color, and geometric or free-form style elements. They are normally architectural and modern in their look. Contemporary rugs can also feature retro patterns, typically inspired by art deco and arts and crafts periods. 156 pieces from the gallery. Click a rug for details.
Traditional
Classic Oriental designs
Traditional designs are modern-day representations of time-honored European and Asian patterns. Some use long-established patterns. Traditional rugs are normally considered formal, but they can also work in casual living spaces. They typically include florals and other intricate patterns, borders, and central medallions. 12 pieces from the gallery. Click a rug for details.

Transitional
Between classic and contemporary
This style blends traditional and contemporary. Often it keeps a classic pattern and eases up on the formality. A floral without a border, or a bordered pattern with softer contrast between the colors.
Size guide
How much rug do you need?
Living room
Front legs of sofas and chairs on the rug. Leave 8–18" of floor between rug and walls when possible.
Dining
Add about 24" past the table on every side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
Bedroom
A runner on each side, or a large rug under the lower two-thirds of the bed. Your call on scale.
