Traditional

Classic Oriental designs

Traditional designs are modern-day representations of time-honored European and Asian patterns. Some use long-established patterns. Traditional rugs are normally considered formal, but they can also work in casual living spaces. They typically include florals and other intricate patterns, borders, and central medallions. 12 pieces from the gallery. Click a rug for details.

Size guide

How much rug do you need?

Living room

Front legs of sofas and chairs on the rug. Leave 8–18" of floor between rug and walls when possible.

Dining

Add about 24" past the table on every side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.

Bedroom

A runner on each side, or a large rug under the lower two-thirds of the bed. Your call on scale.

Personal Sourcing

Searching for something particular?

Tell Taba about the room, the colors you like, and the size. He has spent four decades knowing who makes what. If it is not on the floor, he can often find it or have one made.
